Soo-Bahk-Do Karate develops strength, balance, flexibility, concentration, self-control and self confidence. The YMCA’s program has produced more than 200 Black Belts and six Master Instructors. Our students can trace their lineage directly to Grand Master Hwang Lee, the founder of Moo Duk Kwan. Instructor Mary Ann Walsh is a certified teacher with a Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. Have you youngster’s Birthday Party at the YMCA. Parties are for two hours: the first hour in the pool and the second hour in a “party” room. The “Y” will provide a party coordinator to help you throughout the event and we have two lifeguards on duty in the pool during the party. Adults are required to be in the water with any child who cannot touch the bottom of the pool or who needs a flotation device. A minimum deposit of $80 is required to reserve the party (covering the cost of the first 10 children). The cost for additional children over the original 10 is $8 per child, maximum number of children is 25. This class is an integrated fitness and nutrition education program for overweight youth ages 8-12 years. The youth will participate in various programs and will learn healthy eating habits to compliment the fitness activities. All classes will start on time, so please arrive 10 minutes early. Wear sweats and sneakers and don’t forget to bring a drink!
