Children begin Pre-School at three (3) years of age. Our well developed curriculum is aligned with the Pa. Learning Standards. Our program is child-centered with learning areas in creative arts, language and literacy, mathematics, personal social, physical (including swimming lessons) science and social studies.

Learning activities and group lessons are repeated to provide optimal experiences for all children including those that attend part-time.

COST: $31/day (3 day minimum)

$25/half day (5 day minimum)

The Greater Scranton YMCA’s Child Care Center operates

6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Monday through Friday 52 weeks a year.

· Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare

· We participate in Keystone Stars Quality Initiative

· CCIS participating facility

· Title XX participating facility

· Preschool funded by the Department of Education for learning materials and books.

· Partner with Head Start

Tours of the facility are available Monday through Friday from 9:30 am-11:am

· Certified teachers and assistants provide a nurturing, safe and stimulating “small group” environment.

· Self-imposed maximum capacity of only six cribs-encourages one-on-one staff/child interaction.

FULL DAY: Over 5 hours)

Designed with developmentally appropriate activities that supplement a kindergartner’s school day. Children can attend for any portion of the day during our hours of operation.

· Full or part-time day care available for Snow Days/School Holidays

COST: $30/Full day (over 5 hours)

$25/half day (under 5 hours, over 2 1/2 hours)

* $15/Quarter Day (2 1/2 hours or less)

* This rate only applies to Kindergarten

Children in our play-centered toddler program are guided through development in the learning areas aligned with the age-appropriate Pa. Learning Standards. These areas include speech and language development, social and emotional growth, physical and motor activities and creative expression. Also, we cooperate with parents in potty training.

COST: Young toddler: (13-24 mos.) Older toddler: (24-36 mos.)

$35/day (3 day minimum) $34/day (3 day minimum)
