Mrs. Pigga joined the YMCA staff in February 2003.  She currently manages Y P.A.L.S.,  latchkey, day camp, birthday parties, babysitting services, scholarship requests and various other child social-educational programs.  She came to the YMCA with a Master’s Degree in Psychology and over twelve years experience working with children.

Mrs. Dempsey has 33 years of Aquatic experience as a lifeguard and swim instructor, with 25 years with the YMCA.  She began her “Y” career here at the Greater Scranton “Y” as Aquatic Director in 1982.  She spent 1986-1990 as Aquatic/Physical Director of the Hollywood, Florida YMCA, then returned to Scranton in 1990.  Diana is a Trainer & Faculty for the National YMCA & conducts extensive aquatic training throughout the country as well as at the Scranton YMCA

Mrs. Mackrell has been with the YMCA for 23 years, eighteen as Head Front Desk Clerk, and the past 5 years as Program Secretary.  She co-ordinates birthday parties, Y-P.A.L.S registrations as well as serving as program secretary for all departments.

Mrs. Strehle has been involved with the YMCA for 15 years.  She initially started with children’s programs for her children.  Soon she began working at the Front Desk.  Her current responsibilities include Membership/Front Desk Manager as well as assisting the Annual Giving Chairperson with the Annual Giving Campaign.

Louise P. McLafferty has been employed by the Greater Scranton YMCA since 1974.  Prior to becoming C.E.O. in 1999, with the retirement of her colleague Lloyd Capwell, she was the Sr. Program Director.

Louise has been pivotal in the inception and development of many of our core programs, “Y” P.A.L.S. in 1975, Latch Key and Day Care.  She is presently trying to make the Scranton “Y” a family gathering place in Lackawanna County.

Our Director is a graduate of Marywood University, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Social Science with a concentration in Secondary Education and a Masters Degree in Counseling.  She also did some PHD credits through Temple University in Adult Development.  A YMCA Senior Director, she has been a Trainer in the areas of Childcare and Annual Giving.

Louise is a Past President of the Dunmore Rotary Club and remains active .  She is the incoming President of White Haven Center Board of Trustees.  Louise is also President of the NEPA YMCA Directors and Treasurer of the United Way Executive Group.

With 23 years of YMCA experience, Mrs. Scotchlas is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education.  She also has an Associate degree in Business Management.  She  works with adult & senior wellness and supervises several YMCA Program Directors.

A graduate of Marywood University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Physical Education.  Mrs. Clause has been with the YMCA for 22 years.  She supervises all youth & adult physical programs.
